Davin Dawkins is the lead instructor of Dawkins Training Solutions. Davin enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2009 and completed tours to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Once Davin departed the Marines, he decided to continue his passion for firearms because he understood that even outside of a combat zone there are still individuals that we come across on a day-to-day basis that pose a threat to us. Davin continues to invest into his own training to stay proficient and sharp with firearm practices.

Davin understands the importance of proper training and how it can affect each student. He has a passion for teaching his students not only the physical skills but also to develop the mental ability to utilize the tools they have, that may need to be used in a real-world scenario.

Davin understands that students come to class with different skill levels, but he keys in on what each student is missing or not understanding at that moment of time. Davin strives to give each student the necessary tools they will need to walk out of class feeling confident and less intimidated by firearms. He also believes in being a student himself and will take classes at local training facilities or with other professional instructors to make sure he stays proficient with his skills and craft.

Davin started Dawkins Training Solutions so he could teach individuals how to safely operate firearms in a proper learning environment. He believes everything we do has a purpose and will always ask his students during the introduction period of class Why are you here? and What are you looking to get out of his class? As students we must know why we are doing something, or we will not fully grasp the concepts or retain the information that is being taught. Davin believes that hands on training and repetition are the key to building muscle memory over time and makes it a huge part of all his classes.

Davin’s primary goal for Dawkins Training Solutions is to teach individuals how to be safe and proficient with firearms. Along with making sure that everyone that leaves our class feels they were taught all the necessary rules and fundamentals to safely own and operate a firearm.
